On January 14, 2025, at the Sattabongkot Hall, 1st Floor, EXC Building, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Bangkhuntien Campus, a special lecture on “Bioeconomy 2.0” was held, featuring Prof. Dr. Lene Lange, CEO of LL-BioEconomy, Research & Advisory from Denmark. The lecture focused on “Bioeconomy 2.0: Harnessing Global Bioresources for Climate Action, Biodiversity, Nutrition, Health, and Business through Knowledge Sharing and International Collaboration.”
Prof. Dr. Lene Lange highlighted groundbreaking discoveries in enzyme research and practical applications, emphasizing the importance of utilizing bioresources efficiently. The lecture also discussed strategies for developing national and regional bioeconomy frameworks to address global challenges.
The event opened with welcome remarks by Asst. Prof. Dr. Bunyaphat Suphanit, Director of the Pilot Plant Development and Training Institute (PDTI), and Asst. Prof. Dr. Chakrit Tachaapaikoon, Deputy Director of PDTI, KMUTT. Prof. Dr. Navadol Laosiripojana, Director of The Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment (JGSEE), KMUTT, officially inaugurated the session.
An update on national and regional bioeconomy strategies was presented by Dr. Warinthorn Songkasiri, Director of the Biochemical Engineering and Systems Biology Research Group, National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC).

Bangkok, Thailand – January 14, 2025 – The Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment (JGSEE) at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) and the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC) co-hosted a special lecture on Bioeconomy 2.0.
Held at the Sattabongkot Hall on the 1st Floor of the EXC Building at KMUTT’s Bangkhuntien Campus, the event featured Prof. Dr. Lene Lange, CEO of LL-BioEconomy, Research & Advisory from Denmark. Prof. Lange delivered an insightful presentation titled “Bioeconomy 2.0: Harnessing Global Bioresources for Climate and Biodiversity, Nutrition and Health, and Business, Supported by Knowledge Sharing and International Collaboration.”
The lecture focused on innovative strategies for utilizing bioresources effectively to address pressing issues related to climate change and biodiversity, as well as promoting health and nutrition through sustainable practices.
Prof. Lange’s lecture highlighted groundbreaking enzyme discoveries and their practical applications, emphasizing efficient bioresource utilization and the development of national and regional bioeconomy strategies. The event was opened by Prof. Dr. Navadol Laosiripojana, Director of JGSEE, KMUTT, and welcomed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Bunyaphat Suphanit and Asst. Prof. Dr. Chakrit Tachaapaikoon, Director and Deputy Director, respectively, of the Pilot Plant Development and Training Institute (PDTI), KMUTT. Dr. Warinthorn Songkasiri, Director of the Biochemical Engineering and Systems Biology Research Group at BIOTEC, also provided an update on national and regional bioeconomy strategies.
Following the lecture, an exhibition showcased research from several labs, including:
